i thought u were talking about wharton or penn in general, not specifically m&t.

there is usually one or two koreans in the m&t program per class so u will be lucky to find another one.

wow jeffery hyung congrats... i feel proud as a sis'er

haha thanx eugene, see you at school tomorrow.

A question to everybody: Are M&T students really considered "elite of the elite" and if they are, why?

haha so you r asking why you are elite?

i think you can answer that better yourself

congrats, everyone! i remember this entire process last year, the second decisions came on I'd log on to CC to see who else got in...and i was curious to see who's comin here next year.

kimqwerty, when you get here i think you'll start to have a lot of Penn pride in general, not M&T or Wharton-specific pride. i've never truly felt myself to be elite, even though we joke about it...there are so many amazing people here.

g'luck to everyone else who's doin rd!

quesiton: how many people who apply RD to M&T end up getting into their second choice major? Probably higher than the normal RD applicant, because of the selective nature of M&T, right? Just wondering, I'm applying RD.

second choice major? you never denote your planned major anywhere on the m&t application...

Yeah you do?...Single Choice fallback (Wharton or SEAS)

Haha, sorry lolololz, I had no intention of bragging. I simply read from Bern700's comment that M&T students are "the elite of the elite," and I just wanted to know why.

yeah they do, they ask for a three digit code for a major if you aren't accepted into fisher.

yeah but it's a fallback school, not major

Just a question I want to pose to those applying to/applied to Jerome Fisher. Let's say you were accepted to Harvard, MIT, Stanford and Wharton M&T, where would you go?

I would choose Wharton M&T.

wharton m&t. i hated harvard when i visited, didn't even bother seeing mit or stanford cause i knew i wouldn't like them.

After reading this post for a few days, I decided to (in place of studying for a Government final) sign up for an account and send out a hello to everyone using this thread, for I'm another M&T person of 2009.

I would definitely say Wharton M&T, but I'm more than a little biased to say the least. I never researched the other schools really, for I didn't have the desire to do so. My uncle went to Wharton, and after I had seen its undergraduate rankings, I decided to look into it. Needless to say, it didn't take much time for me to decide that I basically only wanted to attend Wharton and no other school (though I had my standard public-school backup in case I didn't get in). As at one point a little while ago, I thought I might want to go into the nanotech field (or some type of technology in general), I applied to Jerome Fisher to receive the best of both worlds and, by means of some freak accident, managed to get in!

carpenterm and kimqwerty (as well as anyone else who'd like to), please private message me--after all, there's a good chance we'll be seeing a lot of each other within the next few years!

welcome, snarfo.
