Jerome Fisher Program

How did the M&T candidates do?

i was deferred…decided to keep with the program in RD…so i didnt get chosen for SEAS

I was rejected to M&T, but accepted to SEAS!

"I was rejected to M&T, but accepted to SEAS!" haha me too :D

Deferred to M&T, not chosen for Wharton ED. Now to wait for the RD decisions!

How do you know whether you are deferred or rejected from M&T? I applied to M&T, but admissions letter said accepted wharton. Am I rejected or deferred?

Yukos, you were accepted to wharton but not m&t. If you would have gotten into m&t, the letter would have said something like 'Welcome to the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology...". Congrats on wharton though.

I was deferred for M&T and not chosen for SEAS ED. So for the RD round, how will they evaluate me? M&T first followed by SEAS, or?

i think they evaluate ur M&T first...

i got in!! it was a miracle...=]]

They do look at M&T first.

I also got in early to M&T early!!

If you were deferred from M&T, you haven't been considered yet for your single-choice school. If you get rejected RD, then SEAS will look at your app.

I was deferred as well... good luck to you all in April!

I didn't get into M&T but got into SEAS. I was a little annoyed with Penn for not making it all that clear whether or not I'd gotten into M&T. Yes, the letter said I had been granted a spot in SEAS, but it said absolutely nothing about M&T. I called the admissions office the next morning just to confirm I hadn't gotten in and also to ask if I'd be considered an M&T applicant come regular decision time. If you're accepted into a single degree program, you won't be reconsidered in March. My only question is: It seems pretty easy to qualify for a dual degree with Wharton, as long as you maintain a certain GPA and take ECON 001 and 002 or whatever. What is really the difference between Jerome Fisher and a dual degree with SEAS and Wharton, since one is practically impossible to get into, and the other seems fairly easy?

From what I understand, dual degree students must fulfill all of the requirements for both schools and apply for dual degree status after a semester or two. Joint degree programs waive certain requirements and combine others (some courses will satisfy a requirement for Wharton and SEAS). Overall, it takes fewer credits for joint degree programs but they are harder to get into.

Same... rejected M&T accepted SEAS. They sent out a letter when you turned in your 1A saying that the admissions site will say which program you've been accepted/deferred/rejected from, and that if it says SEAS/Wharton then you've been rejected..

haha how many people were accepted SEAS but rejected M&T? I'm one of them!

Probably a lot, considering there were more ED applicants this year as a whole (probably including M&T), but less SEAS ED applicants, and I think a lot of us have a strong showing in Math/Science with stuff we've done so they feel comfortable putting us into SEAS, but little business experience. Or is that just me?

I have been deferred for M&T to RD though I have also opted for ED for Wharton. Now what are my chances in RD for either M&T or Wharton Single? Is it higher than 15% mentioned in their FAQ or almost the same?

My friend got into M&T. He's from India (residing in India), got legacy (Mom's a Wharton MBA), 2250, 800 IIC, 750 Physics, and he's from an industrialist's family (TVS - one of the leading businesses houses in the country).

My scores are almost the same with a little bit here and there. But I sure do not have a pedigree like your friend- TVS family? Wow. They are very prestigeous. My question is what are my chances now in M&T regular followed by Wharton regular? Will it not be better than deferral from single degree applicant? Any one has any idea?

hella prestigious to say the least. Probably the wealthiest and most powerful family in southern India. I pity the poor fella though. I mean, he's FORCED by his family to major in Mech. Engg from SEAS (yes - the dull, boring engg) because the business deals with that. He actually wanted to go into Huntsman, and go into the UN ultimately, but no - he's got the whole friggin family forcing the chap to do something else. Us normal people are better off quite often :)

anyone know the requirements needed to get into dual degree with Wharton if your in SEAS

SoCloserTooFar...there weren't less SEAS apps this year..there were actually more of a boost there then in any other school...21% in ED apps over all to Penn, but a 42% jump to SEAS
