How important are JHU interviews? Is its main function to reveal a difference angle of yourself to JHU? I’m an RA applicant, and I am thinking of requesting an interview.
Are you a current student or a high schooler? RA interviews are mandatory, so you can’t not request one. They happen in January / February after the application opens in November. College interviews for high schoolers applying to Hopkins are optional; its main functions are as you said, and also to get an alum’s take on what the school is like and answers to any questions you might have.
Yea, I am a high school student. As a general rule of thumb is it better to request an interview? Thanks!
I feel like you meant to say RD, not RA.
Personally I don’t think the interview matters much one way or the other since it is a pretty insignificant part of your application. As a general rule of thumb though, if a school offers interviews in your area and you’re comfortable with interviews, you should probably just go for it. Having an interview is, if nothing else, a good way to get a more specific opinion about the school.
Fyi: An RA is an upperclassman whose responsible for a floor in a dorm. RD is the regular decision application timeframe.
Oh okay, thanks for clarifying!
