<p>What's the social scene at JHU?
I was there over the summer for 2 weeks and although it was the summer it was quite active, clearly not as active as it would be during the school year but it was still good. </p>

<p>I enjoyed my experience, but when I tell people I'm applying there they act snotty about the social scene.
I want a good social scene but I'm not looking for crazy partying all the time.
I think that JHU is a good mix of social, academic atmosphere and pure comfort and fun, well that's the way I felt when I was there this summer. </p>

<p>I think the impression you got over the summer is a pretty accurate one. There’s a great balance between life inside and outside the classroom at Hopkins. Many freshmen go out a lot because they have covered grades, but you can fit into any scene you want–the hardcore parties, the social drinkers, the studiers, etc. </p>

<p>Hopkins definitely has a negative reputation, but people need to learn to realize that it really isn’t that bad here–at all. It’s just like any college.</p>
