Yes, the Admissions Office gives black tote bags to any students attending a guided campus tour or any of our open houses. These tote bags are free. They used to be yellow but when changed the color a year ago. Here is an old Gazette article that was printed when we started handing out the tote bags:
Johns Hopkins Gazette | February 20, 2006

The Admissions Office does not give out discount coupons to the Bookstore. Only on Admitted Student Open House days in April does the bookstore provide us with coupons to hand out.

sweet. can't wait to get mine Tuesday! haha

A few years ago, they gave out yellow ones. And if you get admitted and go to the open house, you get a special "admitted" one.

AdmissionsDaniel, my ds is currently attending a CTY summer program at JHU. Although he is only entering ninth grade, do you recommend that he take advantage of the Johns Hopkins Admissions Session on the closing day (August 8), or is that a bit too much for a kid who hasn't started high school yet... Thanks!

Thanks for the information.

Is there any way to register for the guided tour? I am planning on going to one this coming Monday (next week) but I did not see any option to register that I am coming...

BTW, I am on the Homewood Campus but on the map I don't see the Undergrad Office, does it go by another name...?

Thanks

Anne/PA:
It never hurts to start the college search early, but ninth grade is a bit early. It might be fun for him to enjoy the campus tour and he may get a bit out of the information session, but do know these visit opportunities are really geared to high school juniors and seniors. If a lot of the other CTY kids are attending the session I think he should go too.

medkid06:
No registration is needed for our weekday tours and info sessions. Just show up 10 minutes before. The Admissions Office is in Mason Hall.

Thanks again.

Hey I have a question - Is it okay to visit JHU on Sunday and just like do a self tour?
Couldn't find any info about this on the site.
Thanks!

The Johns Hopkins University's Admissions Office is not open on Sundays and therefore no visit options are available. Students can download our self-guided tour if they plan to visit on a Sunday:

its about an hour
