JHU Transfer Thread

I haven't seen a JHU transfers thread so I figured I would start one to keep things less cluttered. If there is one out there I'm completely sorry for not finding it. I'd love to post there.

First question:

I did a search and wasn't able to find an answer for this question.

The JHU website states that the date of receipt for the application is 15 March. For supplemental materials, transcripts, and recommendations is 15 March a postmark or actual deadline?

Second question:

I found a reference to the 5 yr International Relations Bachelor/Grad program. Are transfers eligible for this? If so, what is the process?

I'm going to keep looking for the answers to these questions and if I find them elsewhere I'll edit this post. Thanks for looking though.

The transfer application deadline of March 15 is a POSTMARK deadline.

Transfer students entering in as a sophomore student are eligible to apply to the 5 year BA/MA program with SAIS at the end of their sophomore year. Please understand that this is a very, very selective program. Transfer students entering in as a junior are not eligible to apply for the program.

SmileDarling: Have you received any notification that your app has been received yet?

Thanks for the info ADan. Looks like I'm out of luck (junior transfer).

Cavs - No, I haven't received notification yet because I haven't turned it in. I'm almost done though....Plus, they're probably pretty busy with Freshman stuff right now so I don't expect to hear from them for a while even after it's turned in.

Last year, Hopkins did not really start to process transfer apps until (as I recall) well after April 1. So don't expect any kind of acknowledgement before then. They're quite kind if you call to ask the status of receipt of your materials, but there's no point in doing that for quite a while.

So don't worry if you have not heard anything.
