I may major in Chem Engineering, Econ, but I'm not sure yet what my major will be.

and none of those colleges gave any kind of financial aid , but

WashU and Rice may will give me something.

But nothing is certain.

which is the best college for me?

It’s almost May 1st and you are still stuck with all these schools?

Not Carnegie Mellon. Your heart is not in your work.

If you’re undecided on your major, both Wash U and Rice are incredibly flexible in changing schools/majors. Given that both will give you some money, I’d narrow it to these two.

are u instate for any of the publics? if so, go there.

anyways, go where it’s the cheapest. prbbly ur best bet if you don’t know where the hell you want to go.

I’m an international student so I am not a instate student for any of state schools

btw , I kindda wanna go either Hopkins or WashU … not sure though

I would choose Rice. Strong ChemE department, Houston is more of an international city than St. Louis, and it’s very flexible with majors.

[NRC Rankings in Chemical Eng](http://www.stat.tamu.edu/~jnewton/nrc_rankings/area21.html)

[NRC Rankings in Economics](http://www.stat.tamu.edu/~jnewton/nrc_rankings/area36.html)

Rice is the strongest in Chem Eng
UCLA is the strongest in Economics.

I would go to public (UCLA or Virginia) you get a great education for a cheaper price.

Also, you may consider a major city in case you need to get back home for some reason. Los Angeles, Houston are major hubs for international travel. If you are coming from Asia I would SERIOUSLY consider UCLA.

According to the (15-year-old graduate school) NRC ranking that you linked, the strongest school for ChemEng on the OP’s list is actually CMU (# 12), followed by Rice (#21), UVA (#30), JHU (#36), WUSTL (#38) and UCLA (#39). Emory is unranked.

Emory is unranked because they don’t have engineering on their own, they do however have joint departments with Georgia Tech.

I say Emory just because I want smarter people with me in the class haha. but no seriously I would say Rice.

If it is between Hopkins and WashU, I think Hopkins offers a better undergraduate experience, smaller environment, easier access to internships up and down the east coast.
If you’re in STL, you can’t really get anywhere else.

I also think that WashU is notorious for being a safety school for the ivies. =/

Congrats on getting into all of these great schools! (UVA is the school I want to go to in the future!)

Either Rice, WashU, or UCLA.
