Jim Nondorf, top inhouse candidate for admissions job, leaves Yale

<p>The top inhouse candidate to be come Admissions Director when Rick Shaw decamped for Stanford, Jim Nondorf, who was passed over for the job, has left for a job at RPI:</p>

<p>Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has hired James Nondorf from Yale University to be the Troy, N.Y., college's vice president for enrollment.</p>

<p>In that job, in which Nondorf will start July 1, he will be responsible for undergraduate and graduate admissions as well as running Rensselaer's office of financial aid.</p>

<p>Nondorf most recently has been director of student outreach and associate director of admissions at Yale. Rensselaer officials said he was credited with streamlining the admissions process while at Yale.</p>

<p>Nondorf began his career with the Cambridge Technology Group, where he eventually became president. Prior to working at Yale, Nondorf was a teacher, musical director and coach at the Terrace Community School, a charter school in Tampa, Fla...." </p>

<p>The man who eventually got the job at Yale was the then-Executive Director of the Association of Yale Alumni, Jeff Brenzel.</p>
