Hey everyone. I know when I selected a school I looked at a lot of rankings. JMU's Undergraduate Business Program is ranked 29th in the Nation. This was just released today. Up from 32 last year. Improving!

While it does not beat William and Mary or UVA, if you are an out of stater like me, it is a huge factor. I'm from Maryland, and there were no schools on that list from Maryland. These rankings were in part of why I chose JMU last year. I like the business program a lot here. Most of the professors are very willing to help you and talk about careers even as a freshman.

No problem! We’re ranked 11th publicly in the nation too, if you we’re interest in strictly public schools. You can always check on JMU’s COB website for more information and program tracks.

Could you compare the business program in jmu and George Mason? Especially the CIS major which is the same thing as the ISOM major at mason. Which has a better business program? I got waitlisted for JMU and accepted to George Mason.

I can’t find any rankings for GMU’s undergraduate program. Their MBA program is ranked 59th in the nation, but that’s a masters program. I know JMU’s CIS major is the second highest average salary at JMU behind QFIN. Usually around $62,000. They have a lot of employers who recruit them such as Booz, Allen, and Hamilton along with PWC and KPMG. I’m a finance major, so I don’t know the most about CIS. If your interested about GMU rankings and such, call their business office and question them. Wish I could be more of help. I can’t say definitively if JMU’s business program is better than GMU’s, I can just show you the facts avalaible. I’m not too sure about GMU. You can always post on their subforum and hopefully someone will have more info.

is JMU worth it? I am an international student aiming to do a major in finance. Kindly let me know about the job opportunities and co-op programs if available any, so i could facilitate my self on my way to complete my education.

JMU’s CIS program is excellent. 100% of its grads get job offers prior to graduation. This USA Today profile ranks JMU 2nd in the nation for CIS grads. I have a recent JMU CIS grad who has a great job & another CIS major who will graduate in '16 who is on her 2nd great internship. It is a great program in a great school.
