am a senior considering whether to apply to Emory or Wash U early decision. I intend to go back to NY after college, maybe work for a couple of years, then apply for an MBA program. I know Wash U and Emory are both great schools, but does anyone have any statistics on job placement after graduation in NY or the Northeast in general? Also are there any statistics about how good Emory's undergrad placement is for graduate schools such as MBA programs or law school (both in Goizueta and Arts & Sciences) ?

I don’t have the statistics, but I can give you my own advice.

In four years, when you graduate, the job market would have changed and the statistics for jobs and graduate school, more than likely, will have changed, too.

Why would you base your decision to apply to a four year school off of job and graduate school placement? Job placement is dependent on how well you market yourself and what YOU do with your degree. People with just an Associates degree are able to network with the right people and market themselves to earn salaries equal to and sometimes more than those with a Bachelor’s degree. (My aunt, for example, has an Associate’s in Accounting and makes 60K.)

Basically, your decision should be on where you would enjoy spending your next four years of your life: Emory or Washington University. And when you graduate and try to obtain a job or spot in a graduate program, you should be able to market yourself well enough to reach your goal.

go with emory, we just had the new york stock exchanger here, which brought us into more national exposure, def go with emory and goizueta
