“If you qualify for need-based financial aid, you will automatically receive a campus employment amount in your aid package. You can earn approximately $2,500 by working just eight to ten hours a week on campus.”
This is stated in the FAQ of international section of Grinnell college.
Now, I can not understand this policy quite well. Does it mean that every student who receives need-based aid is required to do a part-time job in the college?
No, but you can if you want to.
While you don’t have to accept the job, you will still be expected to pay the approximately $2,500 though.
It is common that meet full need schools like Grinnell include some type of student self-help in financial aid packages, typically comprised of expected summer and school year earnings. Note also that the schools determine what the student’s demonstrated financial need is, and that can vary from school to school.
