Job experience

I have nothing to do this summer so I thought I should just apply for a job. Well every place I went to gave me an interview yet I didn't get hired at one. Why? Well my guess is because of that questiong during the interview "you don't seem to have much experience".

Now my question is how can one gain experience on the job if he/she is not able to get a job in the first place?

haha. it's just a retarded system.

...where the whole "connections" thing plays in.

What are you looking for?

anything at night cause i don't have a ride during the day. If i had a car and that nice little plastic card in my wallet i would like to work at borders but i have neither of those two things.

Volunteer. That's experience too.

Also, when they ask for experience relating to the responsibilities of the job, you can relate some of the things you did in school (ex. leadership skills by being leader of a club, speaking skills through drama, etc.)

It's the way you sell yourself really. I know it's so stupid sometimes when they ask for experience when you can't even get one job but it just takes a lot of patience and a lot of rejections. lol.

I had a ten minute interview yesterday and got hired immediately with no job experience whatsoever. But I don't know what kind of job you've been looking for, I just applied to a grocery store. They kind of had to hire me, with a 4.2 GPA and motivation--they asked me where I wanted to go to college and probably weren't expecting me to answer "MIT."
