job opportunities

well i was just wondering, I'm planning on majoring in Government, assuming I keep a good GPA and graduate in the gov honors plan, how likely is it to get job offers once graduate approaches?

~thanks

No jobs in this economy. But no jobs in any economy really.

hopefully the economy will be better in 4years

texasyall, I am also a government major but from what I know most people like us go on to law school. It will be tough to get a job so I suggest looking for an internship at the Capitol if you want to do something related to your major otherwise consider grad school for business or government.

Yes i actually wanna go to law school after i graduate, but I was considering the possibility of taking a year off college to work after I graduate, since I won’t be able to pay for law school unless I get a scholarship.

teasyall, a friend suggested to me that I join the pre-law faternity at UT. I heard they have good resources and will give you the best tips on getting into UT Law (which is tough).

My best recommendation is to work/intern for a candidate who is running for political office or intern at the Captiol, however, not all of them pay but you will gain valauable skills that will look goood when you apply to law school (sorry for the spelling errors)

ah thanks, what is the fraternity’s name? and also how likely is it to get a full scholarship for law assuming you get in?

texasyall, not sure of the offical name but just ask around for the pre-law faternity. If I find out more I’ll post it.

As for a full ride through law school, IDK if that’s possible but if you get one you must have a dman good GPA, ECs, LSAT score, etc.
