Job opptys for Duke economics grads

Would love to hear from some recent Duke grads (Economics, Finance, etc) about their experiences with finding jobs. Was it easy to find an internship after your sophomore and junior years? What kind of companies (i.e. Wall Street investment banks or more like smaller local etc.)? More importantly, what kind of options did you have for the real after college jobs? Thanks in advance!!

I am also interested in this as I know of Duke grads without job offers, lots of Duke grads placed in premier positions due in large part to family connections, as well as Duke grads who have obtained great positions based on their own merits in conjunction with Duke’s prestige.

Check out Duke’s employment/interhip report, which should be publicly available - this will show you where students are working/interning Also look at their Career and Internship Fairs to see what companies recruit on campus.

Lastly, have you read CHASING ZEROES yet? It’s written by a Duke grad specifically about recruiting at Duke for i-banking, consulting, etc. It’s a good and easy read. I heard from my nephew at Duke that his classmates have all read it and found it helpful with what they’re going through with recruiting. Link below. Good luck!

@CallMeEmma : Thank you for posting the link to Chasing Zeros by Duke University econ grad Laura Newland Lukens.
