Hey! I was told by the administration that I would need to find a job during my freshman year. I was wondering if anyone knows how the process works & if anyone has any part-time job recommendations (I am pretty confused).
The administration of Virginia Tech told you that you need to find a job freshman year? That sounds kinda strange. Or are you talking about the financial aid office recommended that you should look for a part-time job to make tuition more affordable?
Once good area for part-time work (other than around Blacksburg) would be working for dining services at Virginia Tech. That is common for a lot of students. https://www.dining.vt.edu/employment.html
Here is also another link for all different jobs on campus

Oh sorry, yes the financial aid office did & thanks!
@cbl1 when applying for the dining services at VT, they ask for the hours during the day that I would be free to work, however, I do not know the schedule yet, therefore, cannot give them an answer. The financial aid office asked to find a part-time job before school starts… I cannot move forward with the application without that info I believe.
Its just an initial application - just put hours you think are appropriate and they will adjust to your schedule.
