John B. Ervin Scholars Program

I got the mail from WA Uni. in St. Louis about this scholar program. I was never interested in that school until now. I was amazed to know that if I am selected, I will be paid full-tuition ($130,000). I am wondering if this mail is like a likely letter- if I apply, will I be likely to get in? Or, is it a junk mail trying to decrease the school's acceptance rate?

If you are wondering, I am actively involved in school and community. 3.83 UW, 4.14 W, 1850 (eek-will retake Dec.) SAT score (670 W/650 M/530 R), 750/610/560, 3rd decile in very competitive school, two hooks: URM and overcoming "adversity" since I was born.

I can't tell you that that was a likely letter. Only apply to Washington University if you specifically like the school because they send a junkload of mail to everyone.

S'vrone is right, WUSTL has a bad rep for sending out TONS of mail.

IT wasn't a likely letter. WashU sends mail to everyone and tricks them into thinking they can get in. Thats why people often view it as a safety and get the shock of their lives when they are rejected. They are trying to get their acceptance rate down so they do a lot of advertising. I do encourage u to apply (if interested)...its one of the top school in the nation and has a lot of good programs. They have a boatload of merit aid that are full and half tution so you should look into those

LOL I wouldn't say a boatload of merit aid. They have a lot of merit aid considering how selective Wash U is, but it's still not much.
