Johns Hopkins Class of 2017 RD Discussion

Is JHU equally or more competitive than schools like Northwestern and Wash U.?
If so, then my Thursday is not looking good…

With the exception of BME, Johns Hopkins is slightly less competitive.

Good to know. Keeping my hopes up!

I’m feeling about a fifty-fifty chance for acceptance vs. rejection/waitlist.

Better than me I’m feeling about 99.99%-0.01% chance of acceptance vs rejection.

^Uh… you mean the other way around, right?

I’m not sure how to feel about my estimate of my own JHU chances. Here’s how I’ve felt so far about the colleges I’ve heard back from.

UIUC: 80% accept - accepted
Miami of OH: 98% accept - accepted
Michigan: 75% accept - deferred (don’t know my final decision)
Kentucky: 99% accept - accepted
Rice: 30% accept - rejected

Oh jeez I’m hearing back from 5 universities at 5 pm this Thursday, it makes me nervous. Did anyone else here apply BME?

I did! I will NOT be getting in, however… : (

I’m starting to regret applying for BME. If I do get rejected from the program, it’s still possible to get into JHU in general, right?

Admitted! And scholarship winner!

PresaD - Congrats! How did you find this out? I thought decisions come out on Thursday.

Yes, Yankees.

And congrats presa!

yupe got in too w/ the scholarship too haha

howd u guys find out already?

well they send out emails earlier for the scholarship winners

^lilyy96 Yeah I’m waiting on 5 universities as well

Thank you everyone!! And JHU sent me an email saying that I got accepted early because they notified their merit scholarship recipients today. AHHHH! :)

Howd u apply doe merit scholarshis was there a deadline or anything?

Yeah, was there a separate application for merit scholarships?

@karatekid, I also applied for BME, but I’m not expecting to get in. My second choice was Applied Math!

nope like Duke you automatically applied for scholarships when you submitted your application (unless you didn’t mark “scholarship” on your common app, which I suppose no one would)
