Johns Hopkins Class of 2025 Waitlist Discussion

Update: I tried calling and they’re still working remotely (not answering phone calls)

Yup, JHU admissions only takes calls via an appointment request form at the moment.

If anyone was still wondering about the JHU portal being inactive, I asked the apphelp email and they said:

Hi

No, this usually happens about this time. They are probably updating the system. I haven’t heard anything about the extended waitlist being released yet.

They keep saying they have no updates at all. but who, if not them, is responsible for the waitlist then?:frowning:

did anyone hear back from them?

Nothing. At all.

ok even though every week we think is going to be the week they finally say something and it never is this actually will be the week we hear something because move-in is on saturday so at least this can all come to an end soon

anyone heard anything? anything at all? i tried calling but nothing :frowning:

Nope…still hoping for the best though!!

As a parent of a potential ‘22 applicant, it is very distressing to read this thread and the agony JH is putting those of you on the extended waitlist through. It does not reflect well on JHU.

yeah I completely agree with you the school I’m committed to has been so attentive to me and I feel so comfortable going there where as with hopkins even though I want to go there I know the administration is not as accommodating as the school I’m committed to so it would be scary to go in as a student who got off the waitlist because I would feel so behind in everything and if the administration is anything like how they are now they will definitely not be helpful :sob:

I am very happy with school I’ve committed to but I’m still perplexed on how JHU handled this… We should honestly get an apology about this. If they were going to this they should have rejected all of us instead of putting us on an extended waitlist. I know things are strange because of COVID but I can’t understand the thinking behind this. To be honest, even if JHU does accept people off the waitlist isn’t move-in day on Friday??? In my honest opinion I think they are just going to not say anything, they probably forgot that there was even waitlist in the first place lmao. But if anyone wants to rant to me about this situation just message me on here, and we can chat on insta or something.

It’s weird how they haven’t said anything or given us any updates. Unless they want to pull a ULCA from last year and leave it open until September, which is stupid. Move in day for them is Saturday. If we were to hear something is would be either today or tomorrow the 18th, like last year. But who knows what the admission team is thinking.

Honestly, I’m thinking the same, we should hear today or tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Is that a thing? Do schools ever just leave their waitlisted students with no answer at all?

I seriously hope not! I don’t think they’ll do that…after all, they did take people on the 18th of August last year and they’ve rejected people from this years waitlist so far, raising the chances of taking those on it (aka us). They know we’re here

what’s a ULCA? was it a typo and u meant like ucla did the same thing to people on the waitlist as JHU did?

so let’s say if we get off the waitlist, because it’s so late does that mean we would have difficulties choosing the classes we want?
