Johns Hopkins, Cornell, WUSTL, or Emory?

I've thankfully been accepted into all four schools, but am facing a hard task in determining where I want to go. A lot of it will have to do with how much money each school offers me but I was hoping if someone could give me the pros and cons of each school. I plan on majoring in public health or something of a pre-med track (i.e biology). I know everyone will say I need to visit the schools and I realize the importance of that but I am just unable to do so due to certain extracurricular commitments (state competitions) and such. I will visit Cornell and maybe Johns Hopkins but thats it. Any advice on where I should go?

I didn’t study public health but there seems to be a consensus that JHU has the best public health program in the country. I think these rankings are for graduate programs but the undergrad program is widely acclaimed as well. You’ll have to visit to get s better sense…

I went to Stanford and have friends at Stanford med. Not sure where you got the Stanford public health is better than Hopkins bent.

Additionally, it’s hard to compare school educations as you have. Especially if you haven’t attended both.

If you are talking about non-need based scholarships, then JHU offers very little - their merit scholarship, I hear, are offered to ~20 of the 1500 incoming freshman. good luck getting it!

cornell

Well I think Hopkins and WUSTL have the best programs out of all those colleges. But the stereotype is that Hopkins is cutthroat competitive and WUSTL is collaborative. I can’t speak for Hopkins myself but my best friend goes to Hopkins and is having a hard time. I would go with WUSTL. Cornell is great too, but it’s rather too big for me and Emory is a notch less reputed and recently, there was a sat score misrepresentation scandal. I wouldn’t want to go there.

I’m currently attending Johns Hopkins University.
I believe we have one of the best Public Health Program.
We get to take courses at JHSPH, which is #1 in the nation, I believe.
There is no doubt Johns Hopkins will be the best if you are considering Pre-Health track.
