Good to know my S22 is not the only one! Did you take up the offer? We did.

I mean JHU’s suggestion to change from RD to ED2, it’s not really an offer. The switch is available to all anyway.

What the chances
GPA 4.87
Student council VP
Research
Rotary student of the month

We took the offer

DD got one as well. I wonder if it was sent to everyone.

It wasn’t sent to everybody. Not sure how selective they were in sending those. What major did your daughter apply for, and did she switch to ED2?

Biology (she is premed). She did switch to ED2. DD’s school doesn’t send midyear report till sometime next week. Hope it gets there before decision is made.

Is ed 2 more competitive than ed 1 does anyone know

The acceptance rate was 21% for ED I this year. For ED 2 last year, it was around 10%. For RD, it was 5%.

All the best!

Our school midyear doesn’t even finish till end of Jan. I am reasonably sure they don’t need mid-year report for ED2 decision. ED1 doesn’t depend on it, for example. With mid-year reports being due 2/15, it’s past ED2 decision date so shouldn’t be needed for the decision.

Hi,
My son has applied BME (1st choice) in ED2 cycle. On his portal we only have the checklist, it doesn’t show that he applied to BME. Is this how it is supposed to be ?

Same here and no mention of major on the portal. So I believe you’re fine
Best of luck !

Hello, my daughter is class of 2025 BME student and it never show what major she applied to. So you both are fine! Good luck. :relaxed:

Thank you for the encouraging words, does she have good GPA and multiple accomplishments Apparently It is becoming very competitive.
Very hard to get into Hopkins.

@Vicky10d are you asking me if my D21 had a good GPA and accomplishments when she applied to JHU? If so, yes. She ensured she stayed at or above JHU average GPA for incoming students which prior to her class hovered around a 3.91 UW. She had a 3.93 (she attended a competitive private all girls HS)

She didn’t have any major research, science awards/ect that people talk about. One thing I believe she had going for her was for 6yrs she worked with Autistic teens and young adults and her and a few of the other girls implemented a sustainable program (collaboration) which JHU loves. So even prior to going into HS she was involved. So it wasn’t some 1 or 2yr thing, they saw she put a LOT of time into 1 thing that was meaningful her her. She was also able to tie that into something personal which is why she became involved. She was also a Mathlete all 4yrs (during COVID it was virtual), VP & Pres of the schools Art Club, Ambassador
things like that. Nothing major. She was also in the top 10% of her class. School doesn’t rank but she was in Decile 1 and based on her schools Profile probably top 5%

Hopefully your student reviewed their schools profile to see were they fit. Since JHU will use that to determine rigor/ect.

Yes it is getting tougher especially for BME. But there are also lots of men in Engineering so I’m sure they are trying to balance it out as well.

Did anybody’s checklist disappear from the portal in the past couple of days? It did for my son.

Hi everyone! How are you doing? BME is super super crazy!! But also my DD was rejected from the school for no reason! She has a perfect ACT/SAT score. She has an UW 4.0 and is a national merit finalist. She also does equestrian on the side and is the captain of the water polo team at her school. I’m not sure what to do as she is also a nationally ranked bassoonist.
