any aid details do you know? a friends kid got in but no aid details so wondering

3 weeks ago I posted about my son receiving an email saying he had missing financial docs on his portal. We inquired about it and they said it was fine now. Last week my son got another email saying he has missing financial docs! Again!

We tried calling the FA office but sat on hold for 30 min tho I tried doing the thing where u can press a button and they’ll call u back. Wasn’t working. So we took a screenshot of his portal showing the full list of docs with green check marks and sent an email asking for an explanation of exactly what is missing. We have not received a response.

Decisions are coming in 2 weeks and I know this is FA related, it is still nerve racking to think that they don’t have his complete file. They specifically mentioned that it was past the FA due date but they’d include the document if received. Wish I knew what it was! :woman_shrugging:t2::weary:

Did any accepted students get their JHU email?

Can someone please post relevant links about the safety situation in and around JHU?

Adding my request for recent information and experience about safety around the Homewood campus. Thanks!

I’m a Hopkins alum and currently live in North Baltimore, maybe a mile away from campus. Happy to answer any specific questions you have. Have you visited campus? Charles Village itself is pretty safe for a city neighborhood. I personally never had an issue with crime while a student at Hopkins (nor did I know anyone who had ) or as a resident of Baltimore. My own kids are high school age and I would be comfortable with them being in Charles Village day or night unaccompanied by me. Typically urban precautions are recommended, don’t go places alone at night, don’t walk around at night with AirPods in, etc . . .

I agree! We are from California and when I did drop off (first time on campus) I was terrified. Fast forward almost to the end of sophomore year. My daughter has never had an issue. Even walking from the library on campus to her dorm across the street well past 11pm. Says she feels safe and if necessary she can get an escort. But has yet to request one.
