It won’t be a problem to make NM finalist --nephew did with a 3.0 (even got the $2500 scholarship, and my son is a NMF with a much higher GPA but didn’t get the $2500 so go figure ;). Work to perfect the application essay this next fall. Even with the lower GPA, I think you have a good chance of getting into some very selective schools. You won’t know until the apps/, but I think JHU is a possibility here.

If you make NMF, then there are other schools to target for merit aid that you can search the threads on later to determine where you will focus. Full ride to Alabama, Tulane? U Southern CA offers half off tuition for NMF, bringing total cost to $30,000 with room and board included. That’s a steal for USC. U of AZ also offers full rides. Anyway, keep this in mind for next fall. When you get the application materials there is a huge list of schools to research for amount of awards offered. You will be choosing your “first choice School” on application in fall, but have one other opportunity to change that school the following spring (April deadline). There are tons of threads on NMF schools and all the strategies to getting a full ride or almost full ride. Good luck! I have no doubts about you. Nephew had a 3.0 and is on a full ride at Ohio University for pre law. He’s saving all kinds of money for law school and has earned a 4.0 for past two years…he’s a man on a mission :)
