Johns Hopkins University vs Oklahoma University

*It won’t be a problem to make NM finalist --nephew did with a 3.0 *

I wouldn’t say that it won’t be a problem…go back to the NMF threads and you’ll see some kids/parents posting their disappointment that their 3.2 or so kept them from making NMF.

*That’s unfair, misleading and perpetuates stereotypes about the weight of being Afr American. I certainly agree this young man could be well served to shoot for other elite schools beyond JHU, but let’s not give false hope that “he will get accepted to every elite.” *

First…I corrected myself in a later post because I thought he had a 3.7.

Secondly…YES…a male AA with a single sitting 2400, a high GPA, and his good ECs would likely get accepted to all elites he applied to.

Thirdly…as the wife of a doctor PG, you may also know that the same would work for med school apps. In the med school forum here…a Male AA posted that he had like a 35 MCAT and a high GPA, and he asked about safeties…the veteran posters there who know the workings of med school admissions assured him that he didn’t have to worry about safeties that much…and that he should feel free to apply to all the top 20 med schools (and that he’d likely be accepted.)
