Anyone trying to transfer to Johns Hopkins for Fall 2007?

lol they accept 50 people each year from a pool of a thousand, i doubt anyone can get in.

well, from the stats that you just gave, 5% of the people do get in, so why cant he try?

they accept more ppl than that...college board shows their acceptance rate to be around 15% and they don't get anywhere near 1000 applicants.

Where are you gettin that information?

And to the OP, no I'm not applying to JHU b/c I am afraid I won't be part of the Hopkins 500. :D

I am giving it serious consideration...but nothing's decided until I see how things work out in the fall (before transfer deadlines, mind you).

I'm interested too, to transfer into the Krieger-Peabody double degree program.

dude i am just saying its a ***** to transfer to. 50 people is a not a large number. considering is selected from thousands.

lol is this the same person that posted the thousands comment up there? just to help you out:

Taken from Collegeboard (http://apps.collegeboard.com/search/CollegeDetail.jsp?collegeId=808&profileId=1): and look under Admission

Transfer Students
Total number of transfer students who applied: 528
Total number of transfer students who were admitted: 76

Which is something like 15%...so there ya go.

Let's not get into a fight about this. The truth is, admissions chances are different for each applicant.

I'm not trying to argue about it, just proving that this person that keeps telling everyone they only take like 50 out of 1000+ applicants is wrong. True, admission chances are different for every applicant, but that's beside the point.

5% (which is like Yale difficulty) is a pretty big difference from 15% (which is not so awful for such a great school).

There's no argument to be made without any evidence for the other claim...I'm just trying to keep some of these people from not applying because they suddenly think Hopkins is outrageously difficult to get into.

Heh, you've certainly done your research brand. :) Ok, I'm not getting involved anymore.

lol maybe too much I looked into Hopkins a while back...just trying to help I don't want to sound like I'm lookin for a typical CC battle royale. :D

I looked at their application and its rather very simple compared to other colleges. They don't even require SAT scores for transfers. I wonder what they're most interested [aside from the GPA, recommendations]..
