Before anyone worries, there have not been any decisions made yet. The decisions will most likely come out towards the end of January, early February. Hopefully any questions you have we can answer here too! Good luck!

Thank you for starting this thread @mxl2015 ! I am anxiously awaiting notification

I also applied for the Johnson! I wonder how many people applied this year as it seems like the program is becoming more well-known each year. In any case, good luck!

Of those who are active(i.e. commenting) on this website, I have counted at least 10 now. Combined with the number of applicants from last year, I believe there will be a tough competition this year. This also means I have a 2% chance of getting it.

It’s important to remember that you don’t just get it. You’re invited to Johnson weekend for interviews, and the whole time your on campus you are on stage. Every year there are potential Johnsons that lose the chance to get the scholarship because of their behavior on campus during Johnson weekend.
Good luck though!
I applied as well!
Does being instate help at all?
I don’t believe so. But there are a fair number or Virginians (myself included) at the school. I think the student body is is between 15-20% Virginian.
I actually have a couple questions about W&L’s application process and the Johnson scholarship as well. Could you answer them for me?

Any word?
@ninadasiy, unfortunately, we have about two weeks until we will hear
When do you guys predict they will come out? I’m guessing the 27th.
Seems like a reasonable prediction. While we are waiting do you mind sharing your logic?
Given that I have same prediction, I am going to guess that he/she is also basing it on past years. My window was 1/27-1/29, but things may have changed.
I’ve been speeding home from school each day to check the mailbox!
Do the notifications come out by mail or email? Nonetheless, may the odds be ever in all of our favors [-O<
I’m guessing we won’t know until February
We are supposed to be getting a crazy blizzard so I do not think I will be getting my letter anytime soon.
Just so you guys know, I emailed the admissions office a few weeks asking for a definitive date, and they said early February.
I emailed the admissions office on January 15th and as of then, they were still working on the applications.
