<p>Were do some people go to do theirs? Are they payed? Can you go out of state?</p>

<p>The Globe hires a lot of coops, and I think pays around $12 an hour. There are other papers around that hire them – I know the Patriot Ledger does, and I think the Herald, and definitely smaller suburban papers and free papers. I think people also can get jobs at magazines and TV stations – I know people have gone to NYC to work at magazines – but htose are more competitive and more likely to be unpaid.</p>
