Journalism Dual Major

So I'm a freshman at Syracuse right now. I plan on majoring in Newspaper Journalism and something else. I believe I want to end up doing something with environmental reporting, so ideally I would major in Environmental Studies as well. Syracuse does not offer that however, so I have narrowed it down to three options. Environmental Science (a lot of work for this BS) a BA in Earth Science, or a BA in Geography where I can take a track in Environmental Systems and Landscape Dynamics. What would you think would be the best one to pursue?

Hi Ej: are you planning on a double (not required in Newhouse) or a minor (required)? Probably a good idea to discuss with your advisor....the minor in env sci would probably be a better choice than the double.

I'm talking about a double. Unfortunately, there is no minor in Environmental Science. Here at Syracuse it is only offered as a major.

Ah, I see.....are any of your options offered as minors? or all doubles? If all are doubles, IMO I would pursue the one that has the courses you are most interested in.

Both Geography and Earth Science of offered as minors. I have thought about it and I am pretty sure I would much rather double major than major and minor.
