Journalism EC

At my school, in order to become an editor of the student newspaper, a student has to take a newspaper class each year. The problem for me is that I don't have any space because of AP classes.. plus I'm already taking an elective: Orchestra. I've done freelance articles for the student newspaper but I feel like I can become an editor since most of the senior editors will graduate, moving the juniors to those positions. Should I add that to my schedule next year instead of taking an AP course? I feel like my senior year schedule schedule then would show that I'm slacking...

How do your schools' newspaper clubs work? An actual ec or more of a class?

Well, since you're "already taking" orchestra, it seemse to be more important to you than the newspaper, right? So don't do the newspaper just to be editor. Stick with orchestra.

Its mentioned here..
Adcoms prefer the master than "Jack of all trades, master of none"
Stick with Orchestra, more time, more commitement will pay off
