Ok...Because I have six more years left in the contract I signed for my singing, I have to stay in Florida in order to go to college. Does anyone have an idea of good schools down here that offer journalism? I did research online but anyone who has any experience in one or knows someone who has gone to a Florida school could really help out! Thanks!

Flagler is excellent...and very reasonable. The University of Miami and the University of Florida are both also good for journalism/communications.

I'm a creative writing major at my high school and Eckerd College usually tries to recruit us with their program. Let me suggest that you hook up with a local small town paper to "job shadow" or intern first before you decide on your major. Journalism is an awesome, but cut throat, world and it just depends if you want to go into written journalism or broadcast. The differences are huge. E-mail me if you have any questions and I'd be glad to share my experience as a journalism intern with you.

I know this already Susan and thank you. I have interned before. I am interested in two major careers in journalism, PR and investigative reporting. Because of my singing, my manager allows me to do a lot of the PR for our label. As for the reporting, at 16, you really can't get a reporting job. It kind of doesn't work that way. lol...I know that Eckerd college has been trying to recruit me for awhile. I just want to know all of my options.
