<p>Hi everyone!!</p>
<p>I'm having a hard time choosing which course to take in the JSA summer school.</p>
<p>I've decided that since I live closest to Stanford out of the rest of the JSA campuses (Princeton and Gtown), I would study there. However I'm not sure as to which course to apply for. </p>
<p>I've narrowed it down to International Relations and Speech & Political Communication. But, the website says that it is expected of students to have prior public speaking experience for the Speech program (I do have some, but I'm not the greatest).</p>
<p>Help me decide please? I'm involved in MUN, and I'm thinking of starting a JSA chapter at my school next year. Which program would benefit me more in the long run? </p>
<p>ALSO, for those of you previously involved in the program, do you mind giving me any info/tips? </p>

<p>You can try searching this forum for JSA experiences, or call the program office and ask for references to contact.</p>
<p>I’ve also applied to the JSA summer program at Stanford this year for the international relations course! I think it would be more beneficial to take the international relations course. Considering you are already taking MUN (so am I!) you should use your MUN classes to improve in speech and explore new options during the summer. Plus, I’m sure you will end up having to do some speaking in the international relations course. </p>

<p>With JSA, you can have a much longer career and rise up through the ranks to positions that you could never hold in Model UN. I am a member of both, but I will basically only talk about JSA on my application because I rose through the ranks and got to a much larger position in JSA than I ever could have in MUN. JSA is student run, so you can do many more impressive things.</p>
<p>Just out of curiosity, will anyone be taking the Speech and Political Communications course at Princeton University, this Summer?</p>
