I am trying to figure out logistics for a trip to COS to hopefully catch my cadets jumps.

He has jump the 2nd part of second session. That being the case, is there any cadets out there that have already gone through jump that can give me some idea of what day I should arrive?

I know the weather will play a role as well, but that shouldn’t really effect anything really, as worst case I would get there and he wouldn’t be able to jump that day and I would have to wait for another day.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If I remember correctly, the first couple days (maybe 1 or 2 or 3) are training, and then they begin the jumps. The period where they are jumping lasts a couple days as well, and it is "up in the air" as to when exactly those jumps would occur. I'll try to find my jump stuff to give you a better idea of the timing and stuff.

The first three days will be training, like CPM said. Then, everyday after that (except the weekend) will be jump days.

arch thousand... two thousand... three thousand...

good times. with having the second go, it should be easier to catch. first half jumps thursday friday, then monday tuesday, whereas 2nd half should jump starting either monday or tuesday through friday.

Do any of the cadets go through the Army's 3-week jump program at Ft Benning? Any static line jumping at the Springs?

Just wanted to add to the standard old guy / young guys war of "You young whippersnappers don't know what tough is! At Benning, they made us run 25 miles uphill, both ways! Then push the C-130 down the runway until it got to takeoff speed. And after every jump, they made us jump backwards back into the plane at 1100' for our next jump!" :) :)

there is no static line here, just freefall (which is cooler IMO anyway). granted our landings are much softer too, but its a blast.

as far as Ft Benning, i don't know of any that have gone, but i wouldn't be suprised to learn of a few ppl getting the opportunity
