I thought it may be interesting to hear how everyone’s summer has been going so far.

Ops at Eglin has been incredible. I've got an F-16 flight coming up this afternoon. I'll try to post some pictures afterward. :D

wow petko! have an awesome time with that one!!

roughly how many cadets get to do jump their freshman/sophmore summer?, and how many typically WANT to do jump?

There are a lot less slots than people who want to do jump. However, if you get good grades and don't screw up, you will probably get jump if you really want it. Decisions are based on a modified version of your OPA.

CST.....definately the most challenging summer program @ USAFA right now. Enjoyed it, and looking forward to teaching next period

leave is pretty great, not gunna lie... haha. leaving for AETC on Saturday, so i doubt i'll be on here much during those 6 weeks.

what about the 2012ers? what do you guys have coming up? :p

Son did soar first period, first half, and is doing GE right now. He will be in CST for second period, so maybe some of you 2010's who are instructing it will have him for a student.
We went out to COS to watch him soar, and I took a bunch of pics at the airfield. I posted them on Flickr if anyone wants to take a look. I took pics of as many cadets as I could, so maybe you will recognize some of them. I even got a couple photos of some jumpers who walked past me on their way back in from a jump. Here is the link:

I do know a couple of those guys. Nice pictures.

I've got GE coming up next, followed by jump. Looking forward to that!

Jump, then GE! Can't wait to look over the ramp and see you all come in on I-day!
