im going into junior year
and yes all As @master1006
And JHU all the way (hopefully)

VaishS,
What do you think you got on this ACT

@Austin23 super hard question lol, im really not sure, but i have a positive feeling so maybe 34-35. I got a 33 on the last one

I really want to get a 32. I got a 31 the first time. I hope I can get a 32 on this one. At least superscored…

I got a 31 last time. I feel like it’s such an awkward score… Like, even though it’s only two points higher, I feel as if a 33 is marginally better.

Lol 33 is better

@VaishS I was just like you but then I slacked off and got 2 A minuses first semester junior year…but only 2 is still pretty good

@master1006 haha trying to scare me? :p

I not sure what score i got. It could be anywhere from 31-34

I posted the thread to post your scores: <a href=“***June 2014: ACT Scores*** - ACT Preparation - College Confidential Forums”>***June 2014: ACT Scores*** - ACT Preparation - College Confidential Forums;

4 more days.

Anybody remember the question about the well and which color would the well be? I was completely stumped on that one. The rest of the science was relatively easy compared to what i had heard about it before.

@southofstrange It would have to be white. That’s the only color that makes sense.

Was the well question one the ones where you needed outside scientific knowledge or something? If so white would be a good choice, yet with the information they gave us I thought blue had a better chance of being right. Because didn’t the passage state that the wells were colorless or something, which does not necessarily mean it was white, and in the charts blue was the color for most of them. I’m not really sure, but i felt blue made more sense based on what they gave us, and i don’t even think white was mentioned whatsoever in the passage or in the graphs.

Since it was saying COLORLESS I thought automatically white. Now I had no prior knowledge(whatever it may be) that may have been required to answer that question.

To me I think white has plain, no colors so I chose that. The others did not seem right since they are colorful…

And yeah white wasn’t mentioned but I think it was meant to not be mentioned to get one to think…idk

@austin23 Just took most of those same classes this immediate past year. AP Lang is graded pretty easily on the AP test and the essays aren’t too bad. They did throw a slight curve ball in with the argument essay this year though. The multiple choice is ridiculously easy compared to any practice tests out there.

APUSH is a joke. I finished both the multiple choice and the essays with more than half the time left. Not too worried about finishing early as I completed APWORLD in the same amount of time and scored a 5 for a much harder test. I used “The Insider’s Complete Guide” and it was really comprehensive. However, the review book is way longer than Princeton Review and much more in depth. The trade-off is that Insider has really good essay tips and multiple choice tips in the margins, which statistically tell you that certain questions are never going to show up, while noting that other facts definitely will.

AP Stat is rough, especially if you are simultaneously taking precalc. Be really careful in showing your work and practice practice practice! (Precalc is the only glass I have ever gotten below a 90 in).

I can’t comment on regular Physics, Biology, Spanish because I took AP’s in all of those. But I tutored someone in Physics this year and it is all basic algebra manipulation. Solve for the variable 9/10 times.

Hope that helps a little. I can clarify on anything if you want.

@Hawkace Yes, I agree all of the science is basic knowledge. However, if I had not taken AP Biology this year I may have been confused when it mentioned ATP. Got lucky, I guess.

Also, what show is your profile pic from? It’s on the tip of my tongue and I can’t seem to remember.

White definitely makes the most sense and is probably the answer, but i still think the question is stupid. White is not the same as colorless. Milk is white, water is colorless. That’s why i went with blue, because it seemed like it was a base color and it changed into the others or something idk.

Mm…thinking that far seems logical but also seem to make one really confused and conflicted to make a choice idk lol

That question was tricky it did require some chemistry knowledge. Basically the you put solutions into the well plate and add an indicator to them, and based on the indicators color you can estimate the solution’s pH. The well plate has to be white to best distinguish the color of the indicator. Other colors would mess up the indicator color, for example, a blue well plate may make a yellow indicator actually look greenish.

;-; I just took honors chemistry and we never learned that…I just thought white automatically since colorless…idk LOL lucky guess i did i guess…
