which description didnt talk about the train? i put like, the train and sewing machine, the other one i wasnt sure about was the passengers and farm workers. I didnt catch anything about farm workers

I put vanity, and Joseph definetly did not find her amusing. it was the reader and the narrator. joseph, the reader, and the narrator was not a choice. Joseph even said I am confused at your harsh words.

are you sure? i thought that was a choice.

joseph was feigning sincerity..

Does anyone remember anything else? I normally do well in this kind of test but i was so pressured for time, HATED the train section.

sewing machines or farm workers? also the conissuers in the galatea one..

Well I thought Joseph at first, but i didnt see a choice that had him, the reader, and the narrator.

and i said farm workers which i think the passage compares to seed not to whatever was written as an answer choice

what did the rain on the streets mean?

but what references to sewing machines did it make? and it did make referecens to passengers, which went along with farmers.

of course joseph did not find mrs. S amusing....she almost raped him!!

for 'least characteristic of Mrs. S' i was torn between presumption and self-deception, and I put presumption.

there were no references to a sewing machine. that was the answer

oh, sew or sow? i totally read it sowing:(

Farm workers plant seeds and stuff so I put the sewing machine one because that was no where in the passage. [[[ HOLY **** it WAS "sowing" not sewing, I vaguely remember now. Gosh darn one more wrong T_T ]]]

To escius, I put rain on the streets show how he's depressed...choice A...something like that.

Also, for the one that did not apply to the conneisseurs, I said they were NOT people who studied the history and theory of sculpture.

But what was the question, in the same passage, that asked what was the use of "alas" in line 8? I put ironically, he didn't get to solely possess her or something like that.

ANDDD yet another one, what was he jealous of? I put he wanted to own her (I forgot what the wording was like)

I also remember "what is most emphasized in the first paragraph?" --- amorous desire?

What was P. guilty of/punished for? Using art for egotistical purposes? I had NADA for that one.

OMG I don't know why I keep remembering these questions...maybe cuz I saved LIT for last, but what was the meaning of just in the lily poem? I didn't put the fair one but the one above that...I think it was like something and true.

Okie those are the ones I can remember right now so...

i was also stuck between presumption and self-deception, but i put self deception....
i also put reader and narrator

i put rain on streets foreshadowed his depression or something

i dont think i put passengers OR sewing machines...that might not be good..what were the other choices again?

joannerz, i had the same answers for everything you did i think. Except, i put the answer "farm workers are compared to the passengers" for that question because the passengers were not compared to farmers, they were compared to seeds. Sowing machine is not the correct answer because the train 'dispersed seeds', meaning it was like a sewing machine.

what did you put for the last question on the lily poem, the one about which situation would the moral of this poem most apply? i put 'consoling the family member of someone who died young' because i think the moral of the poem was that even short lives are beautiful and important, and a good short life is better than a bad long one.

**** i read it as "sewing machine" too...damn

i completely skipped the Pygmalion poem due to running out of time...how bad is that

um, that was probably the best section of the test, IMO.

DH, i put encouraging a young person to live life to the fullest (or something along those lines) because the poem also talks abt oak trees that live really long but are ugly and dont do anything...but i could be wrong
