^ What were the options?

Geez...I cannot remember all of them :( much less the order..But there were vanity, greed,uhmm..somebody help me out with this one?

IIRC, vanity, presumptive, self-deceiving, ironic and one more I can't remember.

hypocrite piety/

Right, and your choice was?

It is not growing like a tree
In bulk, doth make man better be;
Or standing long an oak, three hundred a year,
To fall a log, at last, dry, bald, and sere:
A lily of a day.
Is fairer far in May,
Although it fall, and die that night;
It was the plant and flower of light.
In small proportions we just beauties see:
And in short measures life may perfect be.

the poem is by ben jonson.. heres the text to help settle some questions

^ it seems like a lot of flower delivery places include it as a message option and people talk about it as a condolence message..? so, it appears that, functionally, that is what the poem is used as...

hmm how many wrong is 750

Ugh, I put corpse at first then changed it to old man or old woman. I picked the old man/woman choice because I thought the adjectives (bald, sere, dry) refered to an old person. ;x

EDIT: As a side, I also put

Vanity
Passengers & farm workers
Young people should enjoy their lives
Blank verse
Study of the theory of history & sculpture
Joseph, reader, & narrator = amused at Mrs. S

console death...

Does a "single heap" refer to the Great Soul? And did Hurston suggest that individuals have their characteristics determined by chance?

i have no clue how i did.

all i know is that the train passage was the hardest for me.

i think i put the great soul as the single heap and i also think i put they were determined by chance.

Thanks. Does anyone remember the answer to the first Q to the Galatea poem? It asked what the last line of the 1st stanza meant (Galatea enroyalled P with her demon blood) or something. I think I put something about sexual activity or something.

ya, sexual activity was what i put..

does anyone remember what the bags of yellow, and brown etc in the zora passage meant? Was it personal chracteristics, or was it people?

I put characteristics and emotions of people...

Faithful101, I also put it represented the characteristics and personalities of individual people.

For the last Q about what the trumpet symbolized for Kid Jones, did anyone get like "elemental power sweeping through him" or something like that?

i can't remember which i chose.

i believe i chose the one that had something about the music making him experience sudden actions.

i put individual people. yes elemental power, its either that or burden?

By "individual people", you mean the answer choice that had "characteristics" right?

I don't think it was burden, Kid Jones clearly said that the music representend hate, love, pride, disgust, etc. And he said it was everything you ever wanted (among other things). So clearly it was not JUST a burden.

Did anyone get "intensify immediacy of his reaction" to the Q about Kid Jones and the use of "beating" instead of "beat?

yes i got immediacy of his reaction.
