June 2006 - Math Level I

I remember the x-intercepts being 4 and -1.5.

no we didint need the x intercepts because they said find the area of the triangle formed with the y axis

that right yoshi. and i put 18.1 because it was the closest.

idk if im the only one but i got 8.1

oh my god. asparo you're right. i was thinking the x axis.

I hate to be a bother then, but perhaps someone could explain to me the problem. It's rather irratating.

Here are the equations: y=-3x+12 and y=2x+3. Bounded by the y-axis.

So the equations intersect the x-axis at 4 and -1.5 respectively right? If anything this is probably where I made my mistake.

yeah asparo i got the same

yes i may have just made up 18.1.......i dont remember

the one with the squares and one length was 5 - did you do 5radical2 times 3?

Or perhaps you had 8.1 which was a choice. Again it's only one problem.

elena it was Square root (12.5) x 6, got the same answer though

what was the answer to that question with
I. cosx < sinx
II. sinx < tanx
III. cosx < tanx

or something related to that

aspara... it was II and III

I think I got II only. Not sure but almost certain.

YES i got II and III...i was stuck on that one for like a few minutes

i believed the particle one said it went down 7 not to 7. im not sure

its II only, im positive

actualy.. its just III .. isn't it? cause it the angle = 45 degrees... cos45 and sin 45 would be the same... therefore.. one would not be less than the other... also.. tan45 is 1. so cos/sin45 would be less than thatt

but that setup i dont think is exactly right..does anyone knnow the exact question?

no, graph them with x's ranging from 0 to pi/2, u will see that II is the only answer
