June 2006 - US History

The Brian, I think the land plots were getting used up too...someone needs to verify this

oh emory1r you're talking about what the US did immediately after WW2, yes it was grant independence to the Phillippines.

someone add the Life magazine one to the list. and the revolution depreciation questions. and the proclamation of 1763 one. and the newdeal/great society parallel one. and one about slaves developing own culture?

omg...you're right.

the question was worded differently.

damn!

this test was somewhat easy i though. i missed warhol..exactly when i was about to do it.. i thoght it was him but i didnt want to waste questions. dang!

Oh what about that question which asked what the US did immediately after WW2 out of anti-imperialist spirit?

Choices were something about Alaska, Hawaii, giving Phillipines independence, and something else.

gxing for the slave question, I think I put A which was more slave revolts, not choice E which was slaves developing their own culture. Are you sure you're right?

For that question, I had something about the land in the south being toiled incorrectly, depleting it of fertility or something.

phillipine independence i thought

There really weren't that many slave revolts, etti. I think the culture was the MOST important.

delirious_tree, I missed it too, I put choice C I think because his name rang a bell. Apparently it was the wrong bell...

sparetire, It was granted independence to the Phillippines.

and there was something about the closing the mississippi river, except question? and compromise of 1850 - willingness of Clay and Webster to compromise?

Damn, I thought I read somewhere that slaves started to revolt more and more...I'm mad because the ~10 questions I missed were pretty much factoids and now I hate myself

the tammany hall answer is not right so far. its not spoils system because it says that the quote advocated which of these? and the guy disliked the spoils system..so it wasnt that. its not merit either..i forgot the other choice..but im confident im right.

gxing I have a vague remembrance of that question, if you can somehow provide the question I think I can answer it.

the other compromise of 1850 question, which was an except question - i put kansas and nebraska would be admitted to to union regardless of their slave/free status.

and who believed that "congress is too diverse and multicultured to be ruled by mass majority?"

I'm almost confidence the tammany hall question was between choice D and E...something bout primary elections and the other forgot.

gxing, I duno the first question, I need the full wording....and the compromise question is correct.

GXING, thats what i put i really hope thats right... cuz i narrowed it down to that and Calhoun

"and there was something about the closing the mississippi river, except question? and compromise of 1850 - willingness of Clay and Webster to compromise?"

Yes, yes! One question was what happened in the late 18th century to Americans. Answer choices included Brit soldier occupying our territory and something about Loyalists not giving up their arms. I can't remember the rest but I put the Loyalists one.

And then the Comp of 1850. I put something about CA being questioned as a free state. I dunno if that's right.

I'm 100% confident that both of the compromise of 1850 questions are correct..about webster/clay and about kansas

sparetire, didn't the loyalists carry arms? I didn't think they put their guards down so easily..so I went with the "British occupying Ameria" because they didn't right?
