wasnt the inner city one about how political ppl got their support or something??

HC & Webster did not want to compromise... the compromise of 1850 finally passed b/c the president died who was against it

Btw, for the city upon a hill question. I cant remember if I put John winthrop or not..., was that answer choice the one that corresponded with something like "as he was leading them to new england"? I think the answer choice was C?

And did we come to a consensus on the supply side economics q? People seem to be saying cutting taxes on poor but I think there was someone who disagreed. Still hoping its not cutting taxes on poor...., cant afford to get anymore wrong.

for the question about the compromise of 1850 what were the choices

i remember webster and clay compromised, and calhoun compromised

does anyone remember any of the other three

also for the life question....nobody can seem to remember the choices.

i have 1. women should continue college before getting married 2. women should keep in shape by jumping on the tread mill 3. taking care of children and household <---was that two or one of hte choices..

THANKS

You mixed up 3., those were actaully 2 separate choices. 1. Tending to housecare work, and 2. sewing clothes for grown children. Dont kno the last one. I just remember all the choices represented the lifestyle of a housewife except the colelge one.

allright sweet..the i think i got the LIFE question correct..thanks odin64x

did we reach a consensus on the indians who came in contact with the settlers...was it fur trading or moving west

What was the specified time period in the question. was it just colonial ?

Yea, It was just colonial I believe.
Little help on the john winthrop thing?

the answer was john winthrop... i cant remember that answer choices at all. I am sorry.

FOR THE NATIVE AMERICAN ONE:
I put fur trades and I am still leaning towards it. This website details the large scale necessity of the Native Americans on fur.
http://www.bio.umass.edu/biology/conn.river/furtrade.html

However, I could be wrong. I dont think the in COLONIAL America, the Native Americans were accustomed to moving west. However, in the later periods they were focused on moving west. DUNNO, someone help me out

man... i might've missed up to 13 so far... no 800 huh?

Horatio Alger, self made man.... i think i put down A, self-redeemed man or something

US tried to stop Soviet influence EXCEPT- UN charter... i think i put down Marshall Plan because that helped rebuild the Soviet economy but apparently that wasn't being asked

no gov’t tyranny b/c of factions quote- Madison... for some reason i could not understand the quote, so i just put down anti-federalists :[

Paper money depreciation- Speculators OR Soldiers... i put something about speculators (was it choice B), but i guess no one knows for sure

not a problem in 1970’s?? (LAST Q) – Either vietnam or loans/ savings... i was stupid and put federal deficit (C)

NE town plots- Importance of community and not rural land... is this the exact wording of the answer? i put something about all homes were private but land was communal or something

NE Confederation- Colonies unite to defend borders against NA

Some question- Answer was federal funding not given to improve inner cities... was this choice E? i put D, something about increased real estate prices in city centers since i thought most of the wealthy lived outside the center and the slums were in the middle...

USSR strength according to Truman- ARMY... i put technology. can someone confirm this for sure like in a quote?

what did most Indians who met colonial ppl do? Move because colonists were encroaching their land... i put religious spirituality

similarities OR diffrerences b/t colonial & na culture- EIther gender roles or View of property... i put intense spirituality

Map question- Either Wheat or Foreign Born... argh, put Democrat

Supply side economics EXCEPT- reduction in taxes to poor?... i remember putting (A), reduction in taxes for middle class and up

btw, i'm pretty sure the question comparing roosevelt and johnson is african-americans

Is still debatable, I put madison but I dont know why. It could very possibly be anti-federalists. No one has really talked about it.

Still being debated.

Thats not the exact wording, but it was something to do with towns and community. Dont think its communal land one.

Yes, that was choice E. Some people are saying it was the fire hazard one which i was believe was choie C.

MED has been arguing for missles. Majority say army but no real proof yet.

It was definitely differences btwn the two and it was view of property. They were both very spiritual.

Dont worry..., I put sometihng about urbanizing...., dont ask.

Not much discussion on this q, could be any of the choices.

infamousx: for number 65. read my previous post. I believe is the fur trade. Remember, we are talking about colonial America, when the Native Americans were still concentrated in the colonies. Ex: Bacon's Rebellion. Confer with me on this one?

48 is madison. Madison was a federalist. The quote was describing the necessity for creating a strong centralized government. This is the antithesis to the Anti-Federalist agenda. Madison is correct.

do you guys think the curve for the USH will be more or less lenient than the REAL SAT BOOK. I think this test was more difficult than the REAL SAT book. WHat do you guys think?

Can you give the curve thats in the REAL SAT Book please.

Where have you been? 63, 64, and 82 have been talked about conclusively, 82 and 64 for at least 2 pages each.

Definitely harder than the Real book. Way more random trivia-ish questions and stuff that was just plain unusual. That being said, I thought I read somewhere that the SAT II curves don't change. I don't really know. But then aren't the SAT I curves based on previous administrations or something? I dunno. Here is the Real book curve though (it's the exact same in PR):

90 = 800 (it's out of 90, don't forget to subtract 1/4 for misses)
81 = 800
80 = 790
78 = 780
76 = 770
74 = 760
69 = 730
67 = 720
65 = 710
64 = 700
62 = 690
60 = 680
59 = 670
57 = 660
55 = 650

Raw...................scaled

90.........................800
89.........................800
88.........................800
87.........................800
86.........................800
85.........................800
84.........................800
83.........................800
82.........................800
81.........................800
80.........................790
79.........................790
78.........................780
77.........................770
76.........................770
75.........................770
74.........................760
73.........................760
72.........................750
71.........................740
70.........................740
69.........................730
68.........................730
67.........................720
66.........................720
65.........................710
64.........................700
63.........................700
62.........................690
61.........................690
60.........................680
59.........................670
58.........................670

if i remember 48 was not arguing for a strong centralized govt......it was talking about the tyranny of the majority so that means its anti-federalist....anti-federalist's always feared the tyranny of hte majority so im going to have disagree with med786 on that

did anyone discuss the alexander hamilton financial insitution question?

hmm...i thought the quote was about attempting to curb the tyranny through a strong centralized goverment. It stated that with a mass amount of people, there is no room for tyranny.
