June 2010: Chemistry

do you guys remember any questions from part C? i found that section weird.

same, i didn’t think it was hard at all but i realized i made so many dumb errors (the mendeleev valence/total electron, highest pH…) ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

i took may and june
i think may was harder
but june was pretty hard too

elfbeauty: same… sigh

I got almost all of the ones I answered right… but I omitted a bunch that I wasn’t sure about because I ran out of time to go back and bubble them in…

md5hash

i’m speaking out of experience, this is my second time taking sat chem & i have a lot of friends who took it

even if teddybear thinks he got -5/5 skipped, there are probably more than that, that he may have missed.

anyone remember the one with base+ water-> I, II,III.
III was H2. i put I and II…

If I took a the test and at the end of the test, I realized that I had filled in the wrong answer sheet (the third one on the back cover), so then transferred the answers to the first document; however, I did not have time to erase my previous answers. Will this affect my score?

@sententia - Same!! I don’t know why, I’ve never really had a problem with running out of time, but when the proctor called 5 minutes left, I was still on like #65…

t/f

ccl4 is square planar (F)
bonds are equal length (T)

idk if i remembered the question right, but the answers are def F, T

ssbmgamerz

you shouldnt have done that darling
its fine to fill out any of the three
and you should have erased it
cus on the back of the test book
it said that you cannot take a test twice.
CB is going to think you took it twice mang.

yea i thought i was doing fine until time was called.

i dont see how doing chemistry in 1 hour makes you any less of a chemist than someone who takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to finish.

thank god. i’ll be satisfied with 750 on this test but yeh i might have missed more.
grrrr. gotta think bout simply retaking it or cancelling it and retaking it

and xkaramelle
i got the same answers for that one too

ssbmgamerz

THAT HAPPENED TO ME TOO last year, with math. i filled out the middle section instead of the first one. when i realized at the end, though, i told my proctor, and she gave me a new answer sheet and watched me transfer my questions over, and filed in a report to CB. i got my scores 4 weeks later than everyone else -_- but there were no problems

but in your case, i don’t think your score will be recognized, if you didn’t tell your proctor

my case was even worse…
i was on #61 and proctor was yelling 5 min left :[
CB should give us a generous curve…

@md5hash - haha, well you could make that argument for just about any test :P

whats -4?
780?

yea dude. when he said 5 mins left i was like

O_O

my heart started beating really hard and people stared at me as i was flipping my booklet back and forth so fast (to look at the periodic table) that i looked like i had gone crazy

@ Yeolgong ; I got I, II, III?
Na + H2O - - > Na+ + OH- + H2.

Speaking of the periodic table, I hated having to flip back and forth to see it, I wish CB would let us rip it out or something!

haha md5hash i hate how that periodic table is attached to the book so you have to keep flipping to the front i’m pretty sure it would’ve saved me ~1 minute if i had a separate periodic table…

so you guys think the curve will be generous this time around??
