June 2010 Critical Reading

nvm, you beat me to it moondragon lol.
can someone remind me of the empathize with father question?

also, what were the other choices to the Matured, Fulfilling SC?

What was the sentence completion with the question about like comedians or something?

So, did you guys get the empathize with her father as an answer,I can’t remember the question?

The empathize question was referring to a line/lines in the passage and asking something about what it showed about the girl… or something. I’m doing a terrible job remembering the question but the lines it referred to talked about how she would never ever think of her father as another being - able to feel as she felt and stuff. These were the lines right after her talking about her father as a horse. Essentially that she could not empathize with her father.

OK, do you remember any of the other choices?
Also what were the other choices for ‘the old ways are snobbishly excessive’?

I got 6 SC wrong and 0 passage questions wrong.

****.

@jollybjolly, one answer was nostalgic and quaint.

@jolly: I unfortunately don’t remember the other choices…

Empathize was the answer, as moodragonx explained.

On the list, I think we need to put the one about “as a whole, what did the passage do” the very controversial one lol. Do you know what question I am talking about and what were the choices?

Wait do any of you guys remember any other choice for the severe/upbraid question?

damn, i picked that, must have been a tricky answer

^^It was amenable, ______.

Another option to the snobbishly excessive was morally something… some big vocab word but that essentially meant that were uptight about morals/ethics.

As for the options involved in the empathize with father question… I don’t remember the others. I don’t think I actually read it very thoroughly. I just looked at the lines, skimmed through the choices and the empathize option stuck out as the obvious one so I picked it and moved on.

For the severe/upbraid, i remember there was another choice where the first word was synonymous with severe, but i can’t remember it - goldysocks, i know amenable was there, but i’m talking about another choice.

@ethereality3: same, it’s just that amenable didn’t fit, dam that was a difficult one.

^^Yeah, I was just hoping that putting another word might jog someone’s memory.

Which curve do you guys think this CR curve will compare to?
http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf

Let’s pray for a red one :o

wait wasnt it compassion,ruthless?

^^^I seriously think it will be red.
The vocab was crazy hard. On practice tests, I usually get every SC correct, and I missed 4!
