let’s hope they throw out some of those crappy ones. lol

can someone explain to me why the answer was “even if the talent is innate, it requires years of practice”. I thought it was the one about the 10,000 hours

Does “throwing out” happen often?

imo empirical/provisional should be thrown out

What was the SC with “devised” about? Can anyone give me a bit of context?

@jolly:I believe that’s how part of the curve is determined, and it has happened before, usually when two answer choices are too close to determine an answer.

@ricky: I think that answer IS the one with 10000 hours…

I think the one we have on the list is a better answer…

It never definitively stated that 10,000 hours were absolutely necessary, but it did imply that even people with great innate talent still had to practice.

Agreed with goldysocks.

devised had something to do with some woman scientist. i think.

For the “alarmist and familiar” answer, what were the other answer choices besides the “naive” answer?

@kobudnik

Sure. Proving the answers right only helps everyone.

was maladroit an answer to any of the sentence completions?

The answer we have for the 10000 question is correct. The author explicitly noted that not everyone that practices for a long time becomes a star. But, everyone that did become a star had practiced for a very long time.

@jolly

I remember A was eloquent but illogical

can someone put the “apoplectic” answer in its context? Also, can you put the “happy in its subordinate role” in context? I dont remember these questions

happy in his subordinate role had to do with the boy and borges.
apoplectic, i believe, had something to do with a politician?
also, again(lol), does anyone remember getting maladroit for a SC?

was that like “the boy was content about…” ?

^yeah 10char

“author’s impression with reality”

can someone remind me of the other choices/ the question?
