Did he take a pre-calculus class?

Yes, but it was 2 years ago. He’s pretty solid in Calculus overall if that matters.

He should probably just go through this to refresh on the concepts that he learned in pre-calculus but has since forgotten. It should come back pretty easily, so a couple hours of preparation with that document and a few practice tests should suffice.

silverturtle- Thanks for that link! I’ll share that with him. Might get a practice test book as well.

Hi guys,

Since I just finished my pre-calculus class, do you think I still need to buy a review book? I already have the CB book, which does not have any review material but just 2 tests. Do you guys think it’s enough for me to do the tests then review the material I don’t understand/forgot from my own school textbook? I don’t feel like buying another book when there’s only 1 week left lol.

Probably not. Do the CB tests and see what score you receive. If you’re doing better than your target score, you should be fine. If you’re at your target score (or under), you could buy a book or use SparkNotes: [SparkNotes Free Online Test Prep and Study Guides for College Admissions](<a href=“SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides”>SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides)

Thanks for the reply!
Yes I’m going to start doing tests tomorrow (hopefully lol… I’m so lazy).

Are the sparknote’s tests accurate predictors of how we’ll do on the real exam?

A lot of people around here say that Sparknote’s is very similar to the real test. It’s actually probably the best thing after the official practice tests.

Which online site would give the toughest practise for math level 2??? I know barrons is good…however its all sold out and ordering it would take too long in shipping time.

I personally don’t like the sparknotes tests. There are a few typos that messes up the entire problem

Yeah but I’ve taken 3 of the Sparknotes tests so far, and I’ve only seen 3 typos, all of which I would have gotten right if they weren’t typos So it’s not too bad

Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me how accurate McGraw-Hill’s Sat subject test: math level 2 is? It’s the book with 1 diagnostic test, and 8 other practice tests.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-subject-tests-preparation/358168-list-best-review-books-10.html

Someone posted that the tests are pretty accurate–is this true? Right now, I am getting around 750+ on all of them (my target for the real one). Does anyone know, please any help is great.

Edit: For some odd reason, I feel like it is accurate, but a little bit too easy…

I have the barrons book and for the conics section on the exercises, it says the answer is B. After reading their explanation and redoing the problem, I think they made a mistake and meant to put D. Can anybody confirm this?

Can someone also explain numbers 3 and 4 in that same conics section.

I think McHill is much easier than the actual test. I got 800s on two of their tests, but 700 and 730 on PR

Are you saying that I shoudn’t rely on it?

is there eccentricity on the test? The barron’s book has eccentricity, but other books/sities such as sparknotes do not cover eccentricity.

are half angle formulas on the test? and sum difference formulas?

I don’t really think I have any weak understandings… but I keep getting scores in the 730/700 range on Kaplan/Sparknotes Should I just keep reviewing wrong answers and taking practice tests? Hopefully that’ll be enough to pull a 750/800 range
