When do see the paper reports for the SAT II Biology tests scores? When are they being mailed home? I got my overall score, is 690 good enough? What books should I study if I should retake the test?

They aren’t mailed unless you request it. Where are you applying?

For higher tier colleges, 690 is a tad low. You will most likely want a score over 700 to be competitive. I’m not sure what a good review book for the test is, though, as I have never prepared for SAT II Biology.

The barrons book is pretty decent. i suggest taking many practice tests.

I got a 690 the first time I took it after Honors Biology. I would recommend taking it again after AP Biology, which I got an 800. I like the Barron’s book the best because it’s not too specific and doesn’t throw random (and sometimes inaccurate) information at your, unlike Kaplan’s, and goes into the important details. Princeton Review does a great job explaining concepts, but doesn’t go too much in detail.

Thank you guys so much!!!
silverturtle: Nope! I didn’t know we had to sign up to get our paper reports! Thanks!
xAmbivalentx: Yeah, I was aiming for a 700. I’ll try really hard next time I take take the test.
fashionfever: Good, I have Barrons! Yup!
illusiondestiny: Great advice thanks! Wow! 800! I hope I get that score! Do you have any advice for studying time and how much I should study? I’m taking the test in October and I started studying.

Now I know which book to get!

THANKS GUYS!!

Well I’m in the same position I’m taking the SAT 2 bio this October and I am I want a 700+:

I have all of the following books:
Princeton Review- Good for understanding concept will it reallllyyyy prepare you NO
Kaplan: Good detail but book is so disorganized that you will get confused or lost!
Barron’s: It’s funny how ppl say this book is sooooooooooo hard and in reality it is perfect because not only do you learn more which isn’t bad and the info is organized nicely. Also I bought Barron’s book for 22.95 because it came with a CD with two extra practice tests(AWESOME)hahah

I genuinely recommend Barron’s!

Good luck to the both of us=)

Thanks for the advice!

Last time I used the Kaplan book because it was the book my school recommended. It was sooo confusing and had a lot of info!

I’ll try Barron’s this time! Thanks!

I say that study a little everyday and make sure you carry it out! I used to make a plan to do some studying everyday, but that never worked for me D: I always ended up cramming everything in last minute, but then I guess that works for me. I would say that taking the SAT Bio right after a class would help, but make sure you review often, because it’s easy to forget all the little details. Take plenty of practice tests, especially the experiment questions. The first time, they totally threw me off! Good luck! :)

Thanks for the advice! :D
