June 2010 Writing

so the writing section whose paragraph was about the name of a book or something was experimental?

anyone remember the improving sentences one, around number 10 or so, about the guy who went into politics, but before that he “had planned on going to med school to become a doctor”? i couldn’t decide if i should have kept that as it was or changed it to “had been planning”

what would 5 wrong, 10 essay be?

nevermind, the paragraph of the other section was about how a certain kind of terrier got its name… anyone have that? i’m almost sure that that paragraph went with all the other answers in the consolidated list, and my cat paragraph was with my experimental section

@krnkid id say 670-690 based off previous 2010 curves. if TCB believes it was a way hard writing test this time possibly 700+ but kinda doubtful

if you have the blue book from collegeboard, it has a writing essay/mc matrix for the first 3 test that you could use to predict your score

FYI @silenceizsik all of the 2010 SAT’s have yielded harsher curves than the ones reflected by the tables for the first 3 tests of the BB book although they were within 20 points usually

I didn’t feel very badly about this test but looking back… I dunno.

This is in part why CC scares me.

^ AGREED10char

CC always makes me feel like crap. Everytime I log on, I feel so down. However, it is addicting despite this.

the first thing i did before and after the SAT is check CC lol so addictive. i need to break this habit

Linkin Park is the best way to go about doing that.

But on topic, I definitely had a writing field test section - it was one of the 25minutes for 35 question sections, but I can’t tell which one and don’t remember about either section to feel better about one than another so I guess it shouldn’t matter.

dang, as of now i got 3 confirmed wrong, but i feel like i’ll get two more wrong… shooooooot i got 760 in march D: this time was unexpectedly confusing for me ugh

I was pretty sure the last identifying error one was vigorously.

Did any Americans have a writing section with Venus and Serena Williams or one regarding braces and Tom Cruise?

may i know which one is the dummy section?

Just wondering, but on what basis did you come to the conclusion that the Williams sisters passage was the experimental?

@JebarPolsky - Because I only had 2 writing sections and I did not have the William sisters passage.

Guys… for the sentence completion question that goes something like “When children are first learning to brush their teeth, attention should be paid to the back molars.”

Is that “As is”, or should it be D: they should pay attention to their back molars. Thanks!

iceui, was your other section on braces and Tom Cruise?

Also, did any American test takers have the Williams section?

LetsBe, which section is DummY? the one about Williams Sisters or the one about teeth thing

Surfer did you take the American or the international test?
