***June 2014: ACT Scores***

@nbph216‌

Not a slam dunk, but you are a reasonable candidate.

You are on the low end of their “middle 50%” of ACT scores, 29-33.

Assuming the 3.6 is unweighted, you’re kind of in the same position.

They only admit 1/3 of applicants, so it could be a bit of a challenge, but for sure go for it. It is a bit of a coin flip at this point, but I’d bet on you.

C 34
E 33
M 34
R 33
S 35

First time taking it with no prep, I hope I can get it to 35-36 if I get the red book and do some practice tests. Also, the rhetorical strategies killed me in English. I got 18 on the grammar subscore, only 15 on rhetoric.

@TheClassyCuber‌ hahha why would you retake with a 34? All your subscores are good too.

Because he/she can score higher

@sallymeno11 yeah, it sounds a little obsessive but it’s not my choice. I was very happy with it but my parents, while not technically not forcing me to retake it, always think I can and should do better.

@TheClassyCuber‌ I’m sorry :frowning: that sucks

Any International students got their results yet?

@sallymeno11‌ I retook it twice with a 35 to finally get that 36

@kdiddy34 that’s pointless. Unless you’re going for a big merit scholarship at a not as selective school, I am pretty sure that retaking with 35’s doesn’t look too great.

Does anyone know when we are gonna get the scores mailed home???

C 31
E 32
M 32
R 29
S 31

I was honestly surprised since I didn’t prepare whatsoever and I went in totally not knowing what to expect since the last preparation that I did was no where close to the test date.

I am getting the act red book and the barron’s act 36 book for harder questions/more practice. I am retaking it in September and am hoping for a 36, I think that is reasonable. Good luck guys in Senior year!

C: 36 (IS THIS REAL LIFE?!?!? how. I can’t. aodflkasrehuhk;l)
E: 35
M: 36
R: 36
S: 36

For prep, I think I used Barron’s and then the red book. Barron’s seemed unnecessarily hard (OR the questions were poorly worded)… On Barron’s practice tests in English, I think I got a 27 or 28 consistently, and got 34-35 on the red book. Maybe I just suck at hard English questions though.
Didn’t take the writing, though, and unfortunately it seems like everyone requires it… But I’m a sophomore, so I have two more years. Maybe I’ll just take the SAT.

Good luck to all you anxiety-ridden seniors (God knows I don’t envy you).

Doesn’t anyone know when we get scores in the mail…?

@shahshah97‌ the last time I took the act, it took about a month for it to come in the mail.

Like a month after you got them online…or like a month after the exam?
Do you think we would get them sent by mail before July 7th?

35 Composite

36 Math
36 Science
35 English
32 Reading

So happy to be done with this test FOREVER.

These scores upset me, you guys are all geniuses. My valedictorian only scored a 26 on the act and in the 1500s for sat like wow

Anyone get their act essay score yet?

Marrissa most people will receive them by Wednesday, and the ACT only updates the website scores every Wednesday and Friday I believe. Oh and we are all not geniuses, only concerned students, which usually do come up as the smart ones. Not everyone in the country comes onto this site, mostly only the concerned, and usually, the studious variety of students. I wish you luck in your travels and hope you earn that famous 36 like the rest of us. GL.

@Marrissa‌
But you said you scored a 1800 something on your first attempt, which is solid.
