@jellybae I DIDN’T see the word “positive”, but everyone else did…

http://file.xdf.cn/soft/120510/146_1113044362.pdf if anyone would like a challenge, try the 2006 may SAT CR. got a 580 on it with a nice curve. got 18 wrong. should of gotten only 10 wrong. The Jefferson Passage and the one about cheetahs will sink you. Don’t believe me, try it out. boy I do not want a hard CR section in October…

Estimates for -2 MC -1 grid-in for Math?

@Christen876 how many skipped? if none then roughly 740

@Christen876, I think that could be 730 or 720 probably.

Actually sat2014 might be right, but math is so unpredictable that those extra ten points could come from one more question that was blank or that the person missed.

@sat2014 which section do you mean?

@sat2014, I don’t think CR might be much harder based on the way collegeboard is changing the exam soon. 2015 will be the last year for the old SAT, and starting in spring of 2016 comes in the new SAT. I did hear that critical reading sentence completion portion was going to be easier, and I felt like it was based on the old tests that were released. All you can do is keep practicing and doing your best. Just hope that October is an easy test for all three parts. I might retake the SAT too sometime next fall, if my score this June test was bad. Anyways, just do the best you can, because pretty much that is all you can do.

Sorry I think I might have not explained my point to well, but hopefully you get the idea.

@Dan213 @Sat2014 Thanks! As long as it’s above 700 (even 710) I’m good! (My other sections scores aren’t too good lol)

@dan213 I would love medium sections for all 3 to be honest because of the fair difficulty and fair curve. Really don’t want to get a hard. Easy would be nice but I’d still prefer medium.

what do you guys think will be the curve for every section? Honestly, I think it will be average for reading and math and harsh for writing because I thought writing was easy while the other 2 were medium

I thought CR was the hard, (Like, low 500s hard), but I suck at reading anyway lol.

For the passage about dark matter, can anyone recall any answers/questions? I’m worried about that one because I had trouble with a couple of questions.

This May, a lot of people were talking about a lenient CR curve due to the Bijah passage. And the curve turned out to be harsh… who knows, writing might have a lenient curve.

@MyRealName, yes, I totally think that passage was a bit difficult, but the questions tripped me up. I kind of just got confused, when I was trying to answer the questions, because for some reason I somehow talk myself out of the answer I get, and then I have to go back and try to prove myself why my first answer is correct.

@Jarjarbinks23 I don’t know if a lenient reading curve would help, because I usually don’t do really well on reading, so if I get atleast 600 on this test when results come out tomorrow, then I will be satisfied.

i thought reading was fairly difficult, writing very average, and math extremely easy.

also @Jarjarbinks23 this is late, but yeah, absolutely! it’s really more of a matter of if you can explain away the 3.3 GPA – if you did terribly in your freshman year for example and realized your mistake, then worked hard sophomore and junior year to make up for it. or if you had something going on in your life at the time, if you were working a full-time job etc. if you can explain it in your essays, colleges will understand. CC is sometimes terrible in the way that it scares a lot of kids into thinking they can’t go somewhere simply because a number of the students on this board are extreme overachievers. i know several people who got into berkeley with 1900s.

just curious but for the may sat, what was the curve for each section? CR I’m being told had a harsh curve meaning it was considered “easy”?

I did the same thing on the dark matter passage @dan213 i confused myself out of putting down unverifiable. And I didn’t skip any. I’m so worried

Jarjar the bijah passage was given during the march test. That curve was a bit harsh. I got 11 wrong and omitted 5 and got a 600
