***JUNE 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

@asappebble

So, multiple your dimensions (that are in feet) by 12 to convert to inches. And then divide those values by dimensions of the blocks (so 4 by 8). Multiply the two values you get to get 360.

I’ll try to do the work, but I’m bad at explaining things.

((812)/4) x ((1012)/8) = 360 (should)

Idk how to make you visualize it, just do not go into architecture/design/engineering (just kidding haha).

so does the act science always have 1 conflicting viewpoints or can there be more than one?

@cooldude1098 Just one conflicting viewpoints.

Does anyone have any past ACT tests besides the Preparing for the ACT tests?

@waddups ahh thank you so much!! that makes sense. also- yeah trust me no way i’m going to be an architect or engineer hahaha

also, so have recent tests just not had any data representation passages for science or have they had them except with 6 questions instead of the usual 5?

Does anyone know if you have to clear your calculator memory before the test?

on the April test they didn’t have 5 question passages at all, just a smaller amount of 6 and 7 question passages.

Here are the distributions for the science test. These changes went into effect last summer (2014).

Data Representation (30-40%). 12-16 questions. Old distribution was 15 questions/3 passages.

Research Summaries (45-55%). 18-22 questions. Old distribution was 18 questions in 3 passages

Conflicting Viewpoints (15-20%). 6-8 questions. Old distribution was 7 questions.

How’s everyone doing

@kgsoccer08 I don’t think so

I’m freaking out

I’m nervous.

I wish I could focus better

@letmeseetheworld there is an herbal supplement that can help mental fatigue. it’s called rhodiola rosea.

I feel like the last 10 questions of the Math ACT always gets me and that’s when I start to get problems wrong. Is the best solution to just keep solving them or are there certain topics that the last 10 questions usually cover?

@cooldude1098 not saying that I’m going to try that but I’m actually a big fan of holistic health

how do you guys do your practice tests/sections? just look over what you got wrong or do you like write it in a notebook and look it over later or do you write the rule down. i need a more efficient way to learn from these

@mithuun15 I write the rule if it is for math in a Microsoft Word document. So that I reference it later.

Hey guys! Remember to make sure your calculator is in degree mode for Trig!
