Im studying for the SAT this summer, currently im learning new vocab, and doing practice tests from the blue book and reading individual math, critical reading and writing workbooks. So I was just wondering what kind of study plans you guys have?? Any reccomended books?

im using barrons math book and the blue book

11 Real SATs....I'm doing every single question in it.

princeton review, 2005 edition. plus online sat prep at number2online, which is pretty good. i really need to improve my critical reading score though. any pointers? infact i need to improve on my math and writing scores as well. if my faux test scores are any indication, i'm about 200 points off target. is about three weeks enough time for that sort of improvement?

Yeah 3 weeks is pretty decent to raise your score however the hard part of it is disciplining your self to study hard for it especially when your on summer vacation.

I'm taking SAT June 3rd, too. My plan:

Read PR for review/strategy: check

Learn/review all of PR vocab and all of the vocab we've had in English this year (only b/c one of the words come up on nearly every question...my teacher takes the SAT every yr and gives us vocab solely for SAT prep): in progress.

Do every question in the Blue Book: in progress.

I hope that all of the measures above will give me an 150-point increase.

Uh oh, you guys are making me worried XD Maybe I should get one of these books. God knows I have enough downtime in my classes now that all the major tests are over.

Well, my original plan was to:
-Casually take practices tests online or with the computer everyday

i'm doing the sat on june 3rd as well. i'm starting my study plan tomorrow! (well, i always say that but i end up cramming the last few days anyways... cough EURO CHEM SAT IIS cough) BUT THIS TIME, I WILL SUCCEED, for the sake of making up for my abmysal GPA! :)

I got the infamous blue book, plus the Barron's writing workbook (I suck at the grammar things...) I also have some other random SAT I books from Barrons, PR and so forth...

This is kind of really random, precocious. But... your username was an answer to a sentence completition in the May SAT. And while I was filling the answer in, I was thinking that the word sounded really familiar since I had seen it somewhere on the CC. I didn't realize that it was your username till a little while ago.

If only I didn't have two classes I'm fighting for As in . . . .

Ah well, I'll just have to do nothing but study this weekend.

silvermoon: lol! did you get the question right? :)

Yep, I did get it right. Even though I was unclear on what 'precocious' meant, I knew what the other choices meant.

I'll be using the blue book, red book, and barron's math workbook.

Main Entry: pre·co·cious
Pronunciation: pri-'kO-sh&s
Function: adjective
Etymology: Latin praecoc-, praecox early ripening, precocious, from prae- + coquere to cook -- more at COOK
1 : exceptionally early in development or occurrence
2 : exhibiting mature qualities at an unusually early age

hehe :) yes, i make a living out of looking up random sat words and using it as my online sn, haha. (no, not really. i just liked how it sounded!)

haha......

LOL!

The sentence was about some genius kid that had special talent at such an early age so that makes a lot of sense. I guess I added a new word to my vocabulary :p

Who can memorize all the words in Barron's?

Any advise on how to improve my Math score? CR and Writing I tend do to fine, but Math I have trouble. I got a 69 on the PSAT math and am looking to raise it to the low 700s at least.
