June 4 2011 Math I Thread

she fell asleep half way there, not for the whole half of the trip. Please someone else confirm

I’m almost postive it was 1/3. Say the trip is 100 miles. It said she fell asleep halfway. so she fell asleep at 50 miles. It then said when she awoke, the distance left was half the distance she had slept, so 50 = x + X/2, x = 33.3333 which is 1/3 of 100.

wordy problem BS

what did you guys put for the question that asked about the intersection of a right circular cylinder and a plane?

^^ people are saying triangle, what about the distance between the two midpoints one

math 2 was much easier than math 1 for me ha.

pretty sure you had to do (3 * 75) + (3 * 37.5) + (3 X 18.75) + (3 * 9.375) =…
anyone else get that?

yes^^ , thats what i did for the sums of the perimeter problem

What will the curve be compared to the Math 2? How many can one miss and still achieve an 800? For math 1, I mean.

And, It was 1/4…

okay how much is 2 missed
and 7 wrong?

definitely a nube question… but
i just took the math I today (june 5th) and i don’t recognize most of what your saying
is this because i’m a sunday test-taker? (makes sense there would be two versions)

btw i took the test in israel if that helps

thanks!

guys is the answer 1/4 or 1/3???

i have the same question as Aaffda4. anyone know the answer?

i skipped 10 questions…should i cancel??

well nhcballer - it depends what you’re shooting for …
if you are absolutely confident that you didnt get any wrong, i’d say you will probably be looking at a ~700 on a typical math I curve

if you might have gotten, say 3 wrong, that’s already a 660 (cause of the error deduction)

how much is skip 2 and 7 wrong?

like a 670^^^.

So no one can clarify if the answer to the question asked on the prior page was 1/4 or 1/3.

1/4. She slept half ways there, then slept for half that time, thus she slept for 1/4 and was awake for 3/4

also, whatwould 5 wrong be?

thats what i had Harvard bound ^^^. Some one made it complicated and said the answer was 1/3
