June 4 2011 SAT Reasoning Post-Test Discussion

i thought math was very difficult. CR and writing were okay.

@vvip002

It was cumulative so you had to subtract the leases in the month preceding April from April’s. Then you divide that number by the total in the six month period to get something like .098. Or 10%

“By the way, in addition to 4 as the grid-in ‘nk’ answer, 0 works also.”

Sorry to tell you but for the ‘nk’ problem the question had positive in the heading so if you put that :(

@Monstermac77

Thanks man. I definitely new something was wrong when I simply added them together and carelessly found the percentage :stuck_out_tongue:
Thanks again.

crap i got a 760 last time i took it……i got -3 wrong and got 2 grid in questions wrong cuz i was pressed for time…what do u think my score would be…i thought the math section was a lot harder than last time i took it… ****…any guesses for a curve…i hope its like a 710-720 cuz it was a harder section…i cant believe i made so many dumb mistakes…btw what was the answer for the average of a+b and a-b and the answer was like a=40 or a=20…any ideas??

@ Monstermac i dont remember which one was it but im like 99% sure it was that one cuz we had the same tests and same sections throughout except for Section 5 she had math i had reading and 1st reading section had 23 questions, EXPERIMENTAL SECTION (section 5 for me) had 24 and other Reading sections had 25 and 19 questions so IM almost 100% sure for me Reading section 5 was experimental

@vvip002

Not a problem. Happy to help.

@bitme192 The section with 25 is accounted for. The 24 question section (section 8 or 9, I believe) is the experimental.

CR always adds up to 67 questions.

@vvip yeah i know and Section 5 reading for me was only 24 questions so i think that was experimental for me and also because my friend didn’t have those passages or section

@biteme192

Do you remember the passages?

btw what was the answer to the last question of the indian passage one like what is tone at the end of the passage? i was confused between A. joyous and E. hopeful but in the end i picked hopeful

@monstermac nope sorry i wish i did

Dang I picked joyous. Because she cries…tears of joy… so I guessed joyous.

@vvip it could have been that but i picked hopefull cuz they werent celebrating or anything they just reconciled by saying they missed each other and it was hopeful that their relationship would get better

@monstermac i think it was section with a double passage about a poet and writer’s block.

Was the writing section about the salmon something like “before returning, with precision…”???

salmon are hatched in rivers; they then swim in the sea for years [before returning, with precision, back to where there from]

Yeah I chose that. It seemed to connect the two clauses together correctly; though I was scared about the tenses of the verbs.

For the last question, did any of you put the answer with “you” in it?

@biteme192: what was your first reading section about?
